Prayer Request

I like to pray specifically so I am asking for prayer that Luke's albumin level will go up. This is a protein in the blood that acts like a sponge and keeps the fluid in his intravascular system. This is what will pull the fluid back into his system and reduce the swelling. God has really answered the prayers about the kidneys so lets move on to the swelling. Luke is now having an average of 3cc/kilo per hour in his diaper - that is great compared to where we were!

Looks like we were on at the same time. Thanks for the specifics. We will pray for the albumin levels to go up. So glad to hear of his kidney's progress. We, too, want that swelling gone. We are so thankful for this blog so we can stay updated and a part of what is going on through prayer.

Hello Eric and family,
Just heard through the prayer chain that your Luke and family are in need of love, support, and prayers. We just want you to know that our prayers ARE with you and our hearts go out to you as well. I have just poured through this blog and through the tears have seen such a great strength in your family that many, I am sure, are awe struck by. I know I am, but even more touched by this rare gift of life that has brought us all here. Luke has a tremendous draw that has us all reflecting on how humbled we should be with life. We haven't spoke in years... but know that friendship doesn't always need words. We will be praying for Luke and waiting for the news we all want to see and hear.

I can't help but think of "Footprints in the Sand" when I try to imagine how you are getting through this incredible challenge. So even though I am sure you have read it many times it is always good to know he will carry you through. So I leave this with you and I pray that you get the help that Luke needs...

Much love and prayer,

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Who would have thought that wet diapers could bring so much joy!?? ;)

Will be praying for little Luke's swelling to go away.

I have been praying day and night. I have asked my BLG to pray and also enricher. Last night around 8:30pm I was praying for Baby Luke and 3 others in severe needs. My friend's site, Karen, I wrote in at 8:30pm the same verse that you used at 11:30pm. Lamentations 3:22-23. "His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Friends of MaryLee and Ed's.) At 14 yrs old, my brother 3 1/2 yrs was on a vent. with encephalitis. My heart cries for you and I yearn to dry your tears. I know Jesus does too. Dear Eric & Susan,
It is not until tonight that we realize the very seriousness of Luke's life. J,K,C,R,C & H were here for a short time after their trip to Portage. C gave us your blog which has kept me weeping. Luke will be in our prayers everyday with a special intention each day (whatever you need). We won't call, but please know that we are here.
With Prayers & Blessings,
Heaths
