Luke is just doing so great! He continues to do well on the new vent. He didn't even de-sat when I picked him up to change his bed today and even calmed himself down (quit breathing over the vent and brought his co2 down) without extra sedation. They are beginning to wean his sedation but that will take a while since he has been on it so long. Our weekend nurse was just knocked out at the progress he had made. Today you could definitely tell the swelling is going down. He has little wrinkles on his hand where it was tight and ready to pop! We are so thrilled he is doing so well. The next hurdle will be can he do okay as they wean the steroid that has helped his progress. We praise God for all he is doing for Luke. He is mighty! He created a strong little boy to go through all Luke has and we know God is carrying him through all these struggles.

WooHOO!! I got chill bumps reading the last two posts! We sang a song at church last week that had a line that said," You use the weak to lead the strong." I thought about Luke and prayed for him during the entire song. The Lord has certainly used Luke to lead us ALL on this journey of strength and faith. I can't explain here in the "comments section" just how he has touched our family and the powerful lesson of prayer he's taught my children.

Grace is ready to see his eyes again once they wean him off the sedatives and I can't wait till soccer practice Monday night to tell everyone that he got to rest in his mother's hands for the first time!!

Blessings,
Leslie Milder

I love the pictures! The brother's holding hands makes me want to jump for joy! Kendall is so thrilled to hear about the wrinkles on his fingers! His precious baby hands have been a big prayer for her! She loves to hold hands! We sure hope we can meet Luke and his amazing family some day!
Expecting a miracle,
Jane

We can't help but cry with joy. I called my children into pray this morning, as we looked at the pictures of Baby Luke with the children. We thank God for the miracles he has already performed and the ones he will perform. His mercy is endless. We agree with Gloria: Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!! "Your word is like a lamp for my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105
We will keep praying for all you have requested! TeresaRN & Family

Who says miracles have to happen all at once! You can see the excitement on Sydney and Hogan as they stand there with their brother.

I bet Luke KNEW it was you holing him - even if just for a moment. We will pray for more moments like that.

Susan,

I have been following Luke's progress for while and just want you to know how happy I am that he has progressed so well. I know that God has his own plan and you have such faith in that and it really inspires me. I will continue to watch him improve and think of your family constantly.

Susan and Eric,
Mom and Dad shared the amazing photos and the posts are so joyful. Each day brings blessing triumphs and tribulations all which strenghten our walk with the Lord, I have never felt so drawn to specific verses in the bible as I have in these last 9 plus weeks. I got the biggest smiles from Mitchell and Cole when I told them the update on Lukes progress. We continue to pray for the complete miracle and nothing less. Love Aunt Carissa
