New Typer

Hi. I am Luke's big brother, Hogan. My mom said I can type the blog tonight. Luke didn't have a good day today. His vent settings went back to where we started last week: high. His co2 remains high. His oxygen was at 100% to keep him oxygenating well. One good thing is his chest x-ray looked better today. My nana & papa came in today. They are going to let my grandma go home. She has been here since the day Luke was born. She has helped in so many ways I can't tell you. Here is some info about me. I am in 4th grade and I'm 10. I am a black belt in karate. Today was the county math bowl. I didn't win. I have a dog named Sugar. She is a yellow lab. She is 1 year old. She is HUGE for a puppy. I'm going to sum this up. Luke needs a lot of prayer to help him through this battle. I am baptized and believe in the Lord. If you don't believe in the Lord I suggest you try going to church and see how graceful and beautiful being a member of the Lord's family is. I am not afraid of dying because I know I am going to Heaven. Pray for Luke!

I love Luke and I love all of you. I am a sister in Christ and I read your blogs each and every day. I was in your shoes 31 years ago, and I am praying for the day I can visit all of you and your precious Luke! The reason I had children was so that they would grow up, accept Jesus and serve Him. My 3 children are saved and I am so happy to hear of Hogan's strong faith in God and the confidence he has in his eternity! Luke is blessed to have such a wonderful brother and sister and parents. Sincerely, Diana Nieves Fowler

Hi Hogan! I am a friend of your Mom and Dad from church. I read about your brother every day and pray for him and your family every night before going to sleep. Tonight, when I read what you wrote, I cried tears of joy to know that you love the Lord and are there for your brother. He is very blessed to have you in his life. I loved seeing your sweet Mom and you and Luke. I will pray for you especially tonight. Love, Stacy Barber

Thanks for typing the blog tonight Hogan. All of us "out here" love to read it because it shows us the power, faithfulness, and peace of the one Almighty God through your family. And it tells us how to pray along with you. You did an especially good job showing and telling! I know you are, and will be, a GREAT big brother to Luke. I am so glad you are my brother in The Lord's family. You can count on us to be praying hard for your little brother. And for you and the rest of your family too. We'll keep asking The Lord for a miracle, and you know what? He is going to give it to us! Because of His mercy and for His glory! Love,

Mr Lyle and Miss Mandy

PS Give your Dad a karate chop for me will ya!

WOW Hogan do you realize you just "preached" your first sermon! Do you want me to send you a little moeny for the offering? We pray for you and your family every day, a lot every day...not just at bedtime.

I wish I was there to take care of you and drive you NUTS but we'll see you soon. Sorry you didn't win the math-thingy...guess you are about as smart as your ol' Uncle Rob.

We are proud of you and Sydney...all of this is a very big deal to handle and I'm excited to know God trusts you all enough to give you Luke. That's pretty cool.

Now go to bed! :) aunt hefty

Hogan, Great blog post guy. I'm sorry your brother had a setback. We pray for him everyday. It is so good to hear a strong faith witness from young folks like yourself. You're quite a fellow and I know you do your folks proud. Your brother has had quite a struggle but it is reassuring to know that God holds him in the palm of his hand. I know your Grandma will be sad to leave you but it will be good for her to be home for awhile. God bless you Hogan. God bless Luke and Sydnee and your family. Cynthia Fisher

Hey Hogan, it's me again. As I read today's devotional I was once again reminded of your family. A quote from Ruth Bell Graham was included at the end. I have copied it for you here: "As a mother (parent), my job is to take care of what is possible, and trust God with the impossible."
-Ruth Bell Graham

God bless and keep you. Cynthia

Hi Hogan! That was an awesome post. Thanks for letting us know what we can pray for specifically. We'll pray for Luke's lungs to heal so he can get off of that vent, and then you guys won't have to worry about the settings anymore!

You sure are a good big brother. I'm glad you've got Jesus in your heart, and you said it best...it is beautiful being a member of the Lord's family.

Thanks for telling us all about what you're doing. That was fun to read. Have a great day! : )

Hogan - great post! Your quiet words of the assurance of your faith in Christ speak so loudly to all of us! You are a bold witness for Christ, young brother. Keep it up! Know that the Nelson family lifts you and Luke to our Lord in prayer every day. We expect His miracle. You'll get'em next time on the math contest. Also, cool scar on your eyebrow!

Hog-

Wow! I am so proud of you for the strong words you just gave all of us.

I was thinking back to the first time you ever spent the night at our house with Coston, and you finally came in to our bedroom about midnight and said, " I'm done."
Isn't it great to know that God is never DONE with us and even in Heaven we are still His concern!
We love you for being the best friend to our manchild and for the way you are leading by example.

Dear Hogan,
I pray all day everyday for Baby Luke. I have his picture in my purse and have asked so many to pray for your special Baby Luke. Our family love you and your family too. I love your Grandfather and Grandmother (Mary Lee and Ed) very much. I first met her as a patient in the ER some years ago. I knew she was very special. Do you know that I have prayed for my mother in law for 19 years and everyday since August, to accept Jesus as her personal savior. To say as we all do, forgive me, "All sin and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23, "In Him, we have redemption through His (Jesus's) blood and the forgiveness of our tresspasses, according to the riches of His grace." Eph. 1:7, John 3:16, Matt 7:21, "By grace, you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift-not from works, so that no one can boast." Eph. 2:8-9. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
Because of Baby Luke's site, I sent her the laminin (L. G.) She is now quoting scriptures and praising God. Thank you for what you have done for all of us. We won't stop praying for Baby Luke.Love Teresa RN

Hey Hogan,
This is Adam. I'm sorry Luke died but I am happy that he's in heaven. I also wanted you to know that we were all praying for him from his first day at the hospital. We are thinking about you and your family today.
Bye the way, 5 minutes after you left gold rush camp yesterday our tent fell down! So we put it up again and in 5 minutes it fell down again! So we decided to join Matthew's tent.
See you soon!

Ps. Tell Sydney I said hi.
