Welcome to our Blog

God has blessed us indeed this week with the arrival of Luke Edward McLeod Heim. He arrived Wednesday at 12:48 p.m. weighing 5lbs. 13 oz. He immediately had some respiratory problems and was put on a ventilator in the NICU. Luke was then transferred to Piedmont in Atlanta where he will be for a while. He continues to make progress with his lungs. We are learning patience and that this will be a baby step at a time as we watch his progress. We want it to happen in our time, but know God is in control and will do this in the right time for Luke. It seems (with a preliminary diagnosis ) that Luke has achondroplasia - a form of dwarfism. We know God has created him especially for us and we are ready for anthing. Our family has walked by the verse Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " We know that Luke is part of this plan and God has created him especially for us. Psalm 139:13-15 is a special verse to us also. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place." My brother Rob recently posted on his blog how special Isaiah 43 was to our family. We know we are walking through the waters, but God is with us.

Hi Susan~
I'm a friend of Leslie Milder's in Texas. I will pray for your family and especially little Luke. Before reading your blog, I replied to Leslie's email--giving her the verses Jer 29:11-14. As a reminder of our God's faithfulness you mentioned that verse in your blog entry. He is in charge--even when we can't see it.

Blessings,
Jane

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy "Luke". I know God has something big planned for his life and thank you for allowing us to be part of his journey. What a glimpse of God and his grace for us. Luke is already doing a great work for the Lord. Thank you Jesus for Luke and his family. Thank you that we know who to come to when we don't understand or have the answers to our questions about life. We will be still and wait on You and Your time. In His name, Amen.
